MFL: Spanish
Spanish learning is based on practical communication and instilling a passion for language learning. Learning a new language is key to becoming part of the global community and we ensure that our pupils have a solid foundation for this journey.
Every child at Gainsborough accesses Spanish through a weekly, hour-long language lesson as well as using their language skills in daily activities across the curriculum. Spanish begins in EYFS with informal lessons and educational games and continues through to KS2, where the pupils start to demonstrate an understanding of basic grammar, listening, reading and writing skills. The children love learning Spanish and show great enthusiasm for learning a new language.
