Day 2 at Kench Hill! Year 6 Magpies have shown amazing bravery and resilience in trying new things this week at Kench Hill.

Goodbye My Friend, told by Year 6 Magpies, was a triumph. Incredible acting, goose bump inducing singing and on point casting. Well done Year 6 team, you made us laugh and cry. Nursery and Reception Sports Day. Well done to everyone involved today. It was a huge success due to the children’s fantastic behaviour and listening, excellent organisation, huge parent support, incredible year 6 pupils and a bucket load of sporting talent. Well done Gainsborough! #keepconnected

Year 6 have been working on raising the profile of the plight of refugee children during Refugee Week. They have been inspired by the Alem’s story, from Refugee Boy by Benjamin Zephaniah. They shared their writing in a recent visit from our Deputy Mayor @anntoinettebramble and local councillor @anyasizer #refugeeweek #keepkind

We completed our annual walk for refugees for #refugeeweek2025 Our Year 6 children led the chant and we sang ‘Wonderwall’ because we can! We want everyone to know refugees are welcome here! #keepkind #keepgiving

It was bread making this half term in our new cooking curriculum. Year 6 made garlic bread. They learnt to measure, combine, knead and roll. 🥣 👩🏽‍🍳 🥣
