Coming up at Gainsborough…
Gainsborough Food Pantry
We are very lucky to be able to offer our families some food pantry packs from our freshly grown growers! Starting this month, you can get a fresh, seasonal produce bag — harvested the same day, grown right here in Gainsborough using low-waste, sustainable methods — for just £5 a week.
Each bag includes a generous mix of leafy greens, herbs, and other seasonal extras, depending on what’s ready to pick. We choose the contents based on what’s growing that week — so while not everything from the weekly update will be in your bag, you’ll always get something fresh and varied.
How It Works
1. Join the Email List
Just send a quick email with “Food Pantry” in the subject line to:
info@sourcefoods.uk
(You can unsubscribe any time.)
2. Get a Weekly Growing Update (Wednesdays)
We’ll send you a short email each week with what’s in season and likely to feature in that week’s bag. Just for info — no need to choose anything!
3. Reserve Your Bag (Fridays)
On Friday, you’ll get a payment link. If you’d like a bag, just pay by 5pm to reserve.
Bags are limited and it’s first-come, first-served — so payment secures your spot.
4. Pick Up (Mondays, 3–5pm)
Pick up your bag from school reception.
No cash, no hassle — just collect your bag and enjoy!
Refugee Week
Years 1 -6 will walk for Refugees on Friday 20th June, at 11am. We want to show our solidarity with those who have fled their homeland and raise awareness of the reasons and journey of many refugees. Year 6 will lead our walk as part of their campaign. If you do not want your child to take part in the walk please let the office or their class teacher know. At Gainsborough we teach our children that everyone is welcome here.
Year 6 Swimming
Years 6 will have daily swimming for 2 weeks at the London Aquatics Centre. Please be reminded that children need to bring trunks/ shorts, a one piece swimming costume, a towel, goggles and swimming hat each day. We hope you enjoy this Year 6.
Year 3 Velodrome Visit
Year 3 will walk to the Velodrome on Monday to look at the building, facilities and consider who uses the Velodrome, where they travel from and the changes to our local area since the Olympics. If you do not want your child to go, please inform the school office.
