Valentine’s Disco
We would like to thank all of our families who attended our annual Valentines Disco to celebrate the end of term. January had been long and cold and it was wonderful to share some love and laughter during this event. The children enjoyed the bouncy castle, the biscuit making, waffle making and of course the face painting and tattoos. Thank you to all of the staff and FRoG’s who gave up their time to support the event, you are brilliant. Thank you for supporting our community.
Parent’s in Class, TastEd
On Friday 13th February, Years 1-6 will invited families into class to complete a TastEd session. This was our first set of TastEd lessons and it was great to have families come into school to see children talk about and try new fruit and vegetables. We will be using our senses to try new fruit and vegetables and connect and communicate over food throughout our TastEd journey. TastEd is designed to engage children in healthier eating and build confidence to try and explore new fruit and vegetables from a young age, we want to know if the TastEd lessons are having an effect on your child’s eating habits, the way they talk about food and whether they are more confident to try new foods. We will be sending a questionnaire to gather your views.
TT Rockstars Battle
Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 were challenged to a TT Rockstars battle against Coach Terry this week. The children triumphed and beat Coach Terry, in possibly one of the greatest battles we have seen at Gainsborough. The children have decided to face Ms Clark in this week’s battle. Will any of the children be able to beat Ms Clark in this week’s battle?

Eat Club Resumes
We are very fortunate to be working with Eat Club again this term. Eat Club offer cooking sessions to families, engaging in healthy family cooking weekly at Gainsborough. We are looking for 15 people (made of 5-7 families) to cook with us weekly for 5 weeks, the sessions will take place each Friday from 3.45-5pm. The feedback from the first cohort, that took part in the Eat Club sessions, was fantastic, we hope this group will love it as much as well. Please email admin@gainsborough.hackney.sch.uk if you are interested in joining the group this half term.

Parking Reminders
We have received feedback from residents in Leabank Square that parking at school drop off and pick up times has become very difficult for residents of Leabank Square. Please could families consider the following:
- Please avoid parking at the entrance to Leabank Square and to respect residents’ private parking spaces.
- Consider the use of alternative parking options further away, walking the short distance, or using public transport where possible.
