Year 6 Junior Citizenship Trip
On Thursday 27th November Year 6 visited the Hackney Junior Citizenship Scheme. It is a multi-agency event for Year 6 pupils in Hackney, deisgned to prepare them for secondary school and to face the challenges of becoming young adults. It teaches practical skills through interactive workshops with organizations like the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, and Transport for London, covering topics such as public transport safety, road safety, healthy choices, and emergency procedures. The program is coordinated by Young Hackney and the London Transport Museum in partnership with Hackney Museum.
Year 2 Young V and A
Year 2 children visited the Young V and A to look at clothes from the past. The children loved the interactive exhibits at the museum and behaved beautifully.
Children versus Staff x table Rockstars Battles
Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 were challenged to a TT Rockstars battle against Ms Lewis. Ms Lewis reamains undefeated in her now 3rd week of TT Rockstars battles, despite great scores! Will any of the children be able to beat Ms Lewis in this week’s timestable battle?
Reader of the Week
Each week we will award one child from Years 1-6 with a new book, as the Reader of the Week. The award is for commitment, reading progress, engagement or sharing their love for reading. Please support your child with reading at home! After all, reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.

Most Improved Writer of the Week
Each week we will award one child from Years 1-6 as most improved writer of the week. The award is for those who have shown a significant improvement in handwriting or writing throughout the week.

Golds!
Each week we celebrate an amazing achievement from each class. Children are celebrated in assembly, receive a gold certificate and their name in the newsletter. Please celebrate their learning at home too!

Mateusz was awarded a Gainsborough Gold award this week for being a kind friend in Nursery. Well done Mateusz!

Azzurra was awarded a Gainsborough Gold award this week for bring an excellent role model and trying really hard in carpet time. Well done Azzurra!
Year 1 Doves
Idris was awarded a Gainsborough Gold award this week for showing a super positive attitude in all lessons. Well done Idris!

Teya was awarded a Gainsborough Gold award this week for showing a continued positive attitude in all lessons and sharing great ideas in writing lessons . Well done Teya!
Year 3

Ze’Viyon was awarded a Gainsborough Gold award this week for showing great resilience in all lessons this week. Well done Ze’Viyon!
Year 5 Herons
Evelyn was awarded a Gainsborough Gold award this week for listening really well to feedback and acting on it in her work. Well done Evelyn!
Year 6 Skylarks
Year 6 Skylarks were awarded a Gainsborough Gold award this week for amazing behaviour on their trip to the Hackney Junior Citizenship scheme. Well done on great listening, respectable behaviour and making the day really enjoyable for all!

It’s Panto time again! Oh no it isn’t….
On Thursday 4th December Years 1 -6 will travel to Stratford to watch Mama Goose. The children will leave school at 9.15am to arrive for the 10am schools show. Year 4 Nike Running Event
Year 4 has been given the exciting opportunity to take part in the launch of Nike’s new Stellar ride run trainers in partnership with Sports Direct. Sports Direct have put together a fun filled afternoon with a colour fun run On Tuesday 2nd December 2025 between 12 and 3pm. This is a 2km colour fun run. Throughout the course, children will be sprayed with non-toxic coloured chalk.Each participant will receive a Nike t-shirt to wear during the run and a pair of the new trainers to wear during the race and take home afterwards. The event will be photographed and filmed in partnership with Nike.
Parents in Class- Friday 5th December
On Friday 5th December we are inviting parents from years 1 -6 into class to sew with us. We have developed our DT curriculum this year and the Autumn 2 unit is sewing, including making Christmas decorations. We would like to invite parents in to sew with us, please be reminded these are not model lessons but set up as activities with the children so they can show you what they have been learning and you can complete something with them in class. We look forward to seeing you in class!

Reception Application Process
Reception applications are for children aged 3 and 4 (born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022) who will start reception class at primary school in September 2026. All parents should apply by 15 January 2026, even if your child is already in the nursery class.
