Parent’s Evening Feedback
Thank you to all of the staff for preparing and undertaking very informative parents evenings this week. A huge thank you to all of the families who came, shared and learnt about their children’s progress and attainment. The feedback from families was overwhelmingly positive with lovely comments about the schools caring staff, the creative and progressive nature of the schools curriculum and approach to awareness days and events, the sustainability initiatives and approaches to the environment and above all there was so many comments about the quality of the children’s work and their happiness and readiness to learn at Gainsborough. We have read the improvement suggestions families have put forward and we will listen, discuss and act on the feedback given.

Anti-Bullying Week
We have been consider scenarios that are ‘rude, mean or bullying’ across Gainsborough this week. We have role played scenarios to help us think about when instances of ‘rude, mean or bullying’ behaviour happen and how we take action to stop these. The children from years 1 -6 really enjoyed role playing a huge range of these scenarios and it gave us lots of opportunities to reflect on our own behaviours and experiences. Please complete the homework with your child this week which asks them to discuss, consider, write about and take action on ‘rude, mean and bullying’ fictional scenarios. If your child brings up anything you are concerned about during these discussions please speak to a senior leader on the school gate.

Each week we will award one child from Years 1-6 with a new book, as the Rewe ader of the Week. The award is for commitment, reading progress, engagement or sharing their love for reading. Coming up at Gainsborough…
Maths Week
We are taking part in maths week at Gainborough next week. This gives staff and children the time to consider the progress, learning and attainment in maths across our school. It also allows us to celebrate maths at Gainsborough! On Friday we are inviting children to wear numbers, this could be any clothing with numbers on, groups of objects or things to count on their clothing. We will also be teaching children to play maths games using cards, uno cards and match attack cards. We hope to give some real life meaning and add fun to using numbers and inspire children to make their own number games.
Run Kids Run- Sunday 16th November
We are taking part in Run Kids Run on Sunday 16th November, from 2-4pm.
