Year 4 were visited by the Hackney Vampires ice hockey team this week! As part of the @hackneyonice programme Gainsborough is trialling, we were able to introduce current players to pupils to inspire them on their ice hockey journey. Year 4 are making linkages as part of their Mechanisms unit in DT this week. They will use these to make a pop up book about Inventions! Well done Year 4.

Year 4 have picked the last of the tomatoes and cucumbers from the polytunnels. They made pickled cucumber and chilli sauce to see us through the winter. Thank you Year 4! #keepgreen #keephealthy

We made headdresses for our Caribbean carnival representing each different carnival dance we have learnt. Year 1 Jamaica 🇯🇲, Year 2 Trinidad 🇹🇹, Year 3 Guyana 🇬🇾, Year 4 Brazil 🇧🇷, Year 5 Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, Year 6 Cuba 🇨🇺!

Year 4 made a refreshing drink from Ghana in their DT lessons this week. They learnt chopping, straining and measuring skills. They said the drink was sweet and refreshing and the mint gave it a kick. Well done Year 4. 🇬🇭 🍍 🥤

Year 4 made focaccia in our bread making unit this half term. They learnt that bread needed time to prove, to help it gain an airy and lighter texture. 🧑🏽‍🍳 🍞 👨🏾‍🍳 🥯 🧑🏽‍🍳 🥖
