We made headdresses for our Caribbean carnival representing each different carnival dance we have learnt. Year 1 Jamaica 🇯🇲, Year 2 Trinidad 🇹🇹, Year 3 Guyana 🇬🇾, Year 4 Brazil 🇧🇷, Year 5 Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, Year 6 Cuba 🇨🇺!

Year 4 made a refreshing drink from Ghana in their DT lessons this week. They learnt chopping, straining and measuring skills. They said the drink was sweet and refreshing and the mint gave it a kick. Well done Year 4. 🇬🇭 🍍 🥤

Year 4 made focaccia in our bread making unit this half term. They learnt that bread needed time to prove, to help it gain an airy and lighter texture. 🧑🏽🍳 🍞 👨🏾🍳 🥯 🧑🏽🍳 🥖

Year 4’s Circular Economy journey. Each half term one class focuses on our circular economy journey learning how to reduce carbon emissions. In Spring 1, Year seeded, germinated, grew, tasted and composted our food. #sustainableschools #keepgreen @sourcefoodsbymadleap

More cooking with Year 4 and 5! Great pasta and brave tasting from our older students. The children learnt how to make a roux and how to make a tomato based sauce. 👨🏾🍳

Year 4 have worked with Ana from @sourcefoodsbymadleap this week to understand how hydroponics work. They have considered how the light, water and nutrients get to the plant and then made their own hydroponics from reused plastic. #keepgreen
