Gainsborough Primary School will be the nearest school to the Olympic park and will be involved in many activities leading up to, and during, the 2012 Olympics.

The Olympic park will contain an Olympic Village for more than 17,000 athletes and officials to stay in. There will also be an 80,000 seat Olympic Stadium which will stage the opening and closing ceremonies amongst other events; an Aquatics Centre housing three swimming pools, including a special one for diving; a Velodrome; and Multi-Sport Arenas.
