EXTENDED DAY PROVISION
At Gainsborough, we are continually trying to listen and act upon your feedback to offer families and our community the best possible extra-curricular opportunities! A number of parents have expressed an interest in childcare running later in the afternoon, and a number of parents have also shared their concerns that clubs are currently unaffordable for them.
The following arrangements will therefore be trialled for Autumn Term 2011.

Middle hall (main school). Please proceed up to the middle hall to collect children between 5.30 – 5.45pm.
Lateness after 5.45pm will not be accepted, as staff are not paid and are unable to remain at school beyond this time. |

There will be places prioritised for families who need childcare due to parents at work (or other legitimate reasons). These need to be reserved for a half term for as many days a week as required, though payment on a weekly basis is fine.
In addition, there may be slots available for any families to request on a daily or weekly basis through the office. |
In addition, there will be some clubs which continue for free where children have been targeted for a particular reason. These clubs include Y6 booster clubs, Y6 BCAP project and rapid reading club. Letters will be sent out separately for these clubs to the children they concern.
As I am sure you can appreciate, these club opportunities are all heavily subsidised by the school. We hope that you and your children will be really excited by this! Please remember that research shows Pupils who participate in extra activities do better academically, have more positive attitudes to learning and attend school more often.
